[nagdu] non-fattening treats

Julie,

Mill'E ate an entire grapefruit when she was a puppy. I had pealed it,
left her in a down/stay while I went to get some water, and when I
came back she was still in a down/stay, the grapefruit was gone, and I
could smell it on her breath. Ever since then, she loves grapefruits,
oranges and satsumas. However this is also the dog who enjoys, and
actively begs for, wasabi peas.

As for treats, my dogs can't have/don't eat cereal grains so coming up
with treats is hard, especially for Bristol who can't cheat on the no
grain rule without growing things in her ears.

Usually I take an organic all beef or buffalo hotdog from the health
food store, cut it up into slices, then cut each round slice into
quarters. I put them on a cookie sheet on low in the oven and they
become crunchy. I mix some garlic or herb of some kind in and they
love these.
