[nagdu] always taking the dog was guide dogs

As others have noted, taking your guide or leaving him/her home is a very personal choice.  I typically take my guides more than not.  I did choose not to take my last guide to my Nana's funeral only because it was very emotional for me. Both my retired guide and working guide at the time are very sensitive and seemed to have trouble with all the emotion. I chose instead to leave them both with a close friend.  I also, don't take my guide to loud events concerts, football games, Disney World, ect.  I also have chosen not to travel over seas with my guide because the flights are too long for their comfort.

Hi Julie,
I'm dying (no pun!) to know why you wouldn't take a dog to a funeral?  I and my friends have done this just like to any other church service. I've been to too many funerals - and with my dog without any problem. What has been your experiences in bringing the dog that made you decide not to do it again?

Dying of curiosity!! LOL

Well it's just like Buddy said-it's very personal.  It also varies from dog to dog.  My first dog has a very different personality than my current dog. What she could handle with ease might drive him crazy and what he doesn't even have to think about she would have lost it completely over.
