/lol/  I wonder if the two left feet and just standing there swishing is a
country girl thing.  /grin/  I'm surprised I ever managed to get anywhere
for trying to get the cane and my feet in sync!  Good grief!

When I first heard that rule, which I think is a very good technique, so
I've really worked to get it straight and still manage to lose it regularly
...  Well, my first thought was that I shouldn't have too much trouble
because if I can ride a posting trot in sync with the horse's beat, surely I
can move a cane in sync with my own.

Ha ha!  Silly, silly me!  I had forgotten

OK when I learned how to use the cane, I was told to move the cane to 
the left you move the rite foot and then the same with the left foot 
moving the cane to the rite.
Well since I have to left feet I get mixed up, then I stand there and 
swish the cane.
Just for the fun of it.
then I can get back on track.
