Jessica, 
It does sound like you asked for a lot of help in a short period of
time. Maybe if you offered to do a presentation with your pup, that
would work better? 
Also, they may have the impression that you are looking for someone to
take you a bunch of places, with a puppy that will do puppy things, and
oh by the way, give me some money too. 
Not saying that is how you conveyed it, just saying that's how it may
have sounded to a person who is by her own definition skeptical.

He's 15 weeks yesterday, so almost 4 months, he's obviously not ready
for guide training, but we need to go places, tons of places for
socialization, I have a family member who is willing to help but she
also works so I want to find volunteers to.
I asked them for volunteer help, monetary help, donations, whatever.
