My first 3 guide dogs, a German shepherd, a lab, and a golden, all weighed about 80 pounds. My current golden is a bit smaller at 70 pounds. I never felt that small dog in my first class, but the instructor, on handing out assignments, joked that it was a chiwawa. Ed Mweskys
