this was well put Jeanine,
this morning while out and about, I was trying to adjust my back pack, 
when I didn't realize that I was near the curb.
My boy went in front of me so that I wouldn't fall.
He didn't move until I put my hand on the balancing part of the harness.
Then I give command brace, and forward.
He braces me, then steps down as I pick up the handle to cross the street.
He sure got lots of praise.
