Dear Toni,

This morning I spoke directly with the Director of Office of
Disability Policy and Outreach Office of the Special Counselor
for the Transportation Security Administration regarding Whole
Body Imaging.

People with service animals will continue to follow the same
screening procedure as always. Nothing has changed. The TSA will
not separate the person from the dog and the Whole Body Imaging
machines are too small to accommodate dogs or wheelchairs. A
notice will be sent out to the disability community from the TSA
that will explain further.

Best,

Ginger

Subject: [nagdu] Full Body Scanning Machines

Hello!

Does anyone know what the rules are for blind people with canes
or dogs now that the full body machine has been installed in most
airports? What do we do with the dog while we're being scanned?
or do we have to submit to the more intrusive patdown?

Toni
