What do you mean "Do you think it is an issue for the other dog?"?
I have walked pet dogs with my cane and it works fine.  I have also walked 
our pet Murphy with my Leader Dog Charlie, before Charlie retired.  Murphy 
after a little experience, learned to walk on my right in stride with 
Charlie.  I realize Leader Dog would probably frown on walking a pet dog 
while working a guide, but I had no problems.
My new Leader Dog Auggie and I have not worked long enough together to try 
to walk Murphy with us at the same time.
