Yes this is my understanding that the law protects equally a puppy in
training as well as a qualified service dog in the state of California.
So if this raiser had been in California she could just thumb her nose
at her boss but things seem to be quite different on the east coast.
I attempted to listen to the information on the nagdu website relating
to hospitals but got the message that the information could not be
found. When I attended schools in the east I was very amazed to hear
instructors suggest maybe it wasn't such a good idea to take a dog into
intensive care in a hospital. As a doctor I have been doing so for
years and wondered about this backward thinking. I have also heard
about difficulties people have had over being able to relieve their
dogs. Of course I have always attended to that problem, but I have
never encountered unwillingness to assist. I have always encountered
nothing but wonderful acceptance of my dogs in a hospital setting and
now that I live in the Midwest I don't expect that to change.
Bright Blessings,
Diana & that Very Magical and Enchanting guide dog Fuller Brush
