I do agree that you need to have confidence in the program that you attend and about the only way to get that is to go for it and choice is a  very good thing.

Welcome, newby!
If you don't have confidence in Pilot Dogs' training, cross them off your
list and look elsewhere. Choice is a wonderful thing!
For example, The Seeing Eye's traffic training is top-notch.  It's a good
bit of why I chose them for my most recent dog.

I think choosing a program in which you have confidence can really help
you be successful. Here you are, learning a complex new skill, working
with another creature, and I think it helps to have confidence that your
dog has been well-trained, and that your instructor knows what he or she
is doing.
