I also wear hearing aides and hope that if my hearing changes someone would still work with me, I guess that remains to be seen somewhere in the future. Fortunately I can still hear traffic with my aides.

Rox,

When I trained with Emma back in 2008, I wore hearing aids. Yes I am not
considered completely deaf, but very much hearing impaired. They made
accommodations for my lack of hearing. They knew ahead of time that I could
not hear traffic well. If I ever go back for another dog, the next will have
even more responsibilities. As my ability to hear traffic is not existent
now, and my other issues of having bad vertigo. I am not sure that they will
work with me, but I am hoping they will. I love TSE because of the ownership
policy.

Is TSE ever planning to train people with multiple disabilities? I
would seriously consider going there in fifty years when Laveau is
old, but to my knowledge I think they only accept deaf people who use
a cochlear implant and who can understand speech.

Because I'm Deafblind and use American Sign Language (ASL) I'm pretty
limited in my choice of programs, and sadly, many of the programs I'm
limited to have some of the most paternalistic and custodial ownership
agreements in the industry.
I think GDF has, in the past, accepted Deafblind people who use ASL
for communication, however I have not read their ownership contract.
I have read, on this list and elsewhere, that they give "ownership,"
but the word "ownership" seems to be subjective if you look at
programs like GDA and Fidelco.
