Mark,
You might want to wait for the dog and learn the campus yourself before 
bringing a dog into the equation.  If this will be your first dog, you might 
want to think about the fact your dog won't know the campus either and it 
can cut down on frustrations experienced by both you and the dog.

This is just my own thoughts on the subject and see what others on the list 
say.
