[nagdu] UK: Heartbreak' as bitten Newport guide dog must go

I rarely post to this list but had to say thank you to Meghan for her post.
I've read messages further on to hers and they sure remind me why I don't
post here!

This is the second time I've seen a person, both persons being from here in
the UK, be ripped to bits by members of this list. The other was regarding
the story about Tom Pey. I can't understand why people feel the need to be
so judgmental, we all know what the press is like and stories often get
distorted.

We happen to be having a very big campaign regarding dog attacks on guide
dogs just at the moment, we being us guide dog owners and GDBA, as it is
imperative we get something done about it as many guide dogs have been
attacked and had to retire in recent times. so of course the press are
going to make it sound as bad as they did. Who can know what this
gentleman's circumstances are, why should anyone judge him if he feels he
can't get out with his cane?

Please, I'd ask you all to remember that there is always more than one side
to a story, and to try to be more tolerant, and to remember that people from
the country you are talking about just might be reading and be pretty mad
with the assumptions you come up with about their country and the people
living in it, and also their guide dog school!

Tracy from the UK.
