A good handeler is one who keeps there dog under control when needed. This with little effert.  A good dog is one who usually responds to the handelers commands.  In my home, Holly is free to be a dog usually.  She may gump and play.  If someone comes over, sometimes she gets enthusiastac and has to go on her leash or in her crate.  However, when she is out and working, she mostly behaves.  Her behavior is always commented on.  When she does need correcting its usually fast and quiet.  She has never growled or anything!  Well, she did once!  A kid was waving a sword around and Holly barked at him!  I didn't correct her that time, I corrected the kid!  
Intelligence is always claimed but rarely proven!
