[nagdu] O/T discussion to Marilyn

Cheryl,
    Though this may seem off-topic for this list, funding of our initiatives 
is important to those who subscribe to this list. I find it so interesting 
that, even those programs that benefit all blind people, are opposed by the 
ACB just because they are NFB projects. The ACB opposed the funding of 
Newsline when it was first launched, as well. What is their argument against 
the Newsline funding? Do they think that blind people don't need to be well 
informed? Do they think that television and radio news is all we need and 
the in-depth, on-demand  information provided by daily newspapers and 
magazines  is more than we need? The truth is that the only opposition for 
funding Newsline is that it is a project of the NFB! It would be interesting 
to know how many ACB members subscribe to the service they oppose! JMHO!
