Oh, absolutely! The ability for your dog to find doors in or out is dead useful. And if you have a dog that can backtrack, all the better. Some dogs are absolutely phenomenal at this. Leno, my current dog, is quite good at this. One thing that I find a little amusing, though. All three of my dogs, when I'm staying let's say in a hotel, will usually find my room. However, they will very often go to one door early or one door late first. Has anyone else noticed this tendency, or am I just lucky? Or holding it wrong? Or something?

For example my wife is at University hospital often. Holly knows the basic route and she usually knows whereever I go I will probably need the elevator, escalator or one of the many nurses stations along the route. Whatever room she is in, I only have to go there maybe twice and she basically remembers it! That's a big place!
