Odie, the medical alert service dog who was once my guide dog that is now 
retired likes to do that too, leave his toys or chew bones in the middle of 
the floor.
So, I've had to result in putting them away in a storage container.
Yes, I've left his chew bones on his pillow and thankfully for the most 
part, they end up staying on there or right beside it.
