[nagdu] Going out during training

Cindy,

You have a valid point there. When I consider the issue from my point of
view, I want to go, do, see, etc., and I don't want some rule or other to
cramp my style!

Were I on the other end, having to keep track of rotating groups of students
and dogs on a regular basis, I would surely go insane and start sneaking
around with padlocks to put onto the doors at night or something. Kidding!
I can't imagine being terribly patient with adults who can't act like it an
who abuse their freedoms and my respect, especially when it comes to bunch
of high end dogs that I am in part responsible for... This is why my career
goals do not include dorm mother! /grin/

I've mulled this one over quite a bit when it comes up in discussions, since
the need seems to be for a generalized solution that is acceptable to the
responsible adults who would like to expect to be treated as such and the
adult children who think it's kindergarten and they can steal all the
crayons if they want to...

Seems a few people have mentioned something about screening? I know the
screening process is pretty thorough to begin with, though.

I like Julie's ideas of having a clear set of rules to be reviewed before
coming to the program. With definitive reinforcement and clearly defined
penalties for those who choose to abuse the freedoms.

Also, if you don't like the rules when you review them before class, you're
always free to let someone else take that dog while you find a place that
suits you better.

Or am I getting into my perfect world with perfect people fantasy? /smle/

I am not sure that kind of arrangement is so much for custodialism as it is
for keeping all on the same page. Some would abuse that privilege and some
would not; I am plenty well satisfied with things as they are along the
going out lines at TSE. How often am I there after all?
