This is a great and informative discussion.  I the points you're all raising
and discussing so far about the conjunction of rights under the law,
responsibilities in claiming those rights, and good old common sense and
communication and evaluating specific factors of a specific situation to
determine where the boundaries fall.

Great stuff, and I'm learning now that anything I might have added has
already been covered.  /smile/

I know someone who is a hospice volunteer in TN.  She's had to have the 
blood testing as well as drug testing because she goes into people's houses.

She's also a GDF puppy Walker, and she will occasionally bring the puppy 
along if the family has approved before hand.
I would imagine that the requirements for volunteering at a facility that's 
public is a bit different than actually going into someone's home.

I can ask about the puppy's vet records, though.

I did want to reassure you that the human medical tests seem to be SOP for 
hospice volunteers.
