[nagdu] renting homes or apartments:

Honestly, as someone who has exclusively rented since being a dog user, I'd
take the dog with me. Not only does it show that you and the dog are a
package deal, but it might be good for you to find out the lay of the
complex, investigate relief areas, etc.

I've had people in sales offices try telling me Hunter was a pet and then
retracting their words after they'd spoken to their bosses or corporate
headquarters.

I've even run into a few issues with Section Eight housing.

But, thanks to the info Marion and others have provided, there is plenty of
documentation to show them if they have questions.

So, I wouldn't go in there with guns blazing. Just look around, ask the
usual renter-to-be questions and go from there.

If they seem cagey or outright say the dog is an issue, then you can show
them your load of legal precedents.

Forget about great wealth, fame and being physically fit. Just give me lots
of chocolate and blissful ignorance and leave me alone."

Hey all, thank you for the advice and scenarios. Now, what do you think
about the first question in my orriginal post regarding going with a cane,
signing potential documents and then showing up with a guide dog later when
one moved in? Or, simply informing the potential company that you had the
guide dog. Just seeing what people overall suggest.
Thank you.
