[nagdu] Getting a urine sample

A very wise Fidelco puppy raiser told me to do the following.

Using 1 yard stick or similar long implement, A large piece of duct tape,
and an aluminum pie pan.

Tape the end of the stick to the bottom of the pie plate. Then slide the
pie plate underneath the busy dog. You will hear the urine hitting the tin
pan and have the control to reorient it with the long handle.

Good lush!

Subject: [nagdu] Getting a urine sample

I've been trying for the last 3 days to get a urine sample from Ben. I'm
supposed to get the first donation of the morning, so I only get one
chance a day. I've got the old pint take-out container, which is maybe 4
by 4 inches. I've tried putting it off to the side, where I think he's
aiming, and I've tried putting it under his belly, closer to the source.
I get a little in the bucket, (and some on my hand and coat), then Ben
stops. "Yo, what are you doing?! I'm trying to pee here!"
I don't know how much I really need to give the vet, but I'd imagine it's
more than the few drops I've managed so far.
If anyone has a good method, I'd sure like to know.
Tracy
