Well I had contacted my supplier for the couple going to Ireland in June, and I asked about traveling with a guide dog there, and they honestly didn't know and wanted information and possibly training.

That is what was asked of me, and that is what I am passing along, since this company is in NJ, I am posting it to NAGDU that is in NJ. I also sent the information to Joe Ruffalo of the NJ affiliate.

I did my job.

The biggest compliment you can pay me is to recommend my services!

I think the thing that bothers me is the lumped together *the blind*. We
are all very different. What I need or want might be very different from
what another blind person needs or wants. Neither is right or wrong and
neither is the norm. It is what it is.

I typically have an easier time getting across what I want or need when the
person has no experience with blind people. They tend to listen to me more.
If they have had previous experience, with another blind person they often
get caught up in the way that person did things instead of listening to me.

I think sometimes companies try to collect this type of information because
it is the politically correct thing to do. then they can say we have a
policy on that. I think if they'd just stick to researching the applicable
laws and leave the rest up to the blind person the world would be an easier
  place to live in.

  Julie
