Hi;
Forme, it was my school who gave me this command or way of speeding up the dog. I lift the harness and say pick it up. I do not keep the harness in this position for for than the time it requires to say pick it up a couple of times. I'm a newbie so would do what the school tells me since I assume this is what they've taught their dogs to react to. The other explanations of why lifting the harness handle makes sense to me too but I'll keep doing what I do since it seems to work.
I'll ask them when their next out here about ways to speed up the dog and see what they tell me a year after I got him. :)
