Yes, I will absolutely have an assistant for my lab. The class is broken up
in classroom time and lab time.

See if the DS office would provide an assistant.  I had taken a Chemistry
course where an assistant was hired to watch my guide.  I then had a
personal escort to take me to the class.  The assistant was required to stay
and help in the Chemistry lab since the equipment was old.  The flame tests
were dangerous and many students ruined clothing when the chemical reactions
did not work out.  The lab consisted of over 50 students crowded in small
cubicles.  Students had to share the workspace within each cubicle.
