[nagdu] boredom on routine routes

Hi Julie,
How long as he been working? Have you ever tried meowing or barking at him
as you are working? I know it sounds crazy, but it really seems to get my
guide going as I try to distract her. It really keeps her mind on what she
is supposed to be doing. Reverse psychology I guess/smile! We just took a 2
mile walk and I did this and the old tail just goes a mile a minute and she
is very steady with her pace. Needless to say, the 75 degree weather is a
bit when we are walking in mostly sunny conditions.

The best to you and the pup,

Steve & Misha

Steve

I've tried treats, but they didn't have much lasting impact. Although when
I used them, I didn't really have much in the way of a training plan in
mind. I just gave him a treat every so often.

I think I'll look for some higher value treats that might be more
motivating. Then I'll come up with some very specific criteria to reward.
Perhaps that will work better than my haphazard approach.

I had thought of giving him some sort of really awesome thing once we got to

work, a pig ear...or something. I'm not sure how that might work out.
Have to think more on it.

Julie
