OSSN Long Island Focuses on Accessible Travel!

The OSSN Long Island Chapter discussed issues affecting blind travelers during its Oct. 25 gathering.


Josephine Emeli (pictured - the chapter's director) invited Cheryl Echevarria with the travel and tourism division of the National Federation of the Blind to brief her agents. "We discussed the rules for bringing dogs onto cruise ships and airplanes," Josephine says, "as well as procedures for selling accessible travel to blind people with guide dogs."

We also spoke about all forms of accessible travel for the blind and not just guide dogs.


FYI, which they didn't mention, is that I am also a member of this travel organization as well.
