Yes, it takes every kind of people to make the world go 'round, as the song 
says.  Hal, you must have been ready to absolutely give that man a taste of 
his own medicine when he kicked your furry partner.  Boy, I sure would have. 
Glad your supervisor straightened his sad soul out.  Wow.
