Does anyone have information on the one week course Leader gives on independent travel and orientation? Am I right in understanding it is a pre-course for people with poor mobility and orientation skills? I have a friend, recently blinded, who was rejected by Seeing Eye because he didn't have sufficient M&O skills. He is going to get an hour a week of training from an itinerant teacher, but at that rate it will take him forever to gain sufficient skill. 

Am I right in understanding that Leader has this pre-course? What is the number of students accepted vs. rejected? What expenses are incurred? What is the wait time? I assume their website is something like LeaderDog.org?
