[nagdu] portable canes was my adventure without my cane

Julie,

I use a support cane with my guide, she has no problem with it. I found a
folding support cane, you can get it from Walmart, and even order it from
online. It's a Hugo folding cane. Its not very expensive but very very
durable. I think its black.

Tracy,

Thanks for sharing your experience. Right now I can only put a bit of
weight on the foot, so it's still crutches or the walker. It's progress
though. I'm hoping to be freestyle walking in the next couple of weeks,
even if only for a very short bit.

Got any suggestions for support canes? I've seen some older blind
people using white ones. I think it's supposed to indicate that the
person is blind just as the long white cane does, but I'm not sure the
public notices such things. I think the dog would be a give-a-way in
any case! *smile*

Thanks!
Julie
