Hello,
This winter will be my first with my dog, Nick. I live in northern Iowa where winters can be extremely cold and snowy. Normal daytime temperatures average in the mid twenties while nighttime temperatures average in December, January, and February in the single digits. Daytime temperatures in the teens or below and nighttime temperatures below zero are not uncommon. I understand that dogs should be used carefully in extreme cold but even in normal temperatures here in winter I'm wondering if some kind of covering is recommended since I walk a little over a mile to work. Do any of you who live in cold climates use some kind of coat and, if so, what do you recommend? Any information will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob Martin
