[nagdu] Guide dog attacked; Owner needs help with needed surgery

I think that vets do have a duty to perform surgery if it's life threatening. Emergency vets do this all the time. Sometimes they get paid, sometimes they don't.

Sounds like this one may be career ending but not life threatening.

Before I'd donate, I'd want absolute assurance the money was going where I thought it was. I'd insist it be in escro until the surgery was done.

What? Aren't they being punished enough by losing their precious pets?
Which they were allowed to keep *after* they killed a dog a year ago,
BTW.

Is it just me, or does it appear that the vet won't operate on the guide
dog in order to prevent it from being permanently crippled -- and no
doubt in lifelong pain -- *until* he's paid first? Um... And isn't it
interesting that anyone who wants to help is supposed to contact the
same veterinary clinic to donate towards their fees? Honestly! Is it
just me, or is there something wrong with *that* picture? Would rather
know how to help out the handler so he can choose a vet who won't let a
service dog suffer over money after it's attacked like that. Or am I
just being cynical?
