Hi Shanna:

I think that with schools the food they use might also depend on sponsorships. The school I went to had a deal with a company that doesn't make great food, from my perspective, but they just couldn't argue with free food for all their puppies in training and dogs at the school. As soon as I got home I began switching Bogart to a kind of low/ medium quality of good food. Then I changed him over to a higher quality food. It is good to do this in stages since the higher protein foods can be hard on the dog with a straight change over from lousy food. (by lousy I mean with lots of filler like corn)

We are now using Acana which is made in Alberta Canada from all natural ingrediants and he seems to like it pretty good. Acan is made by the same copany that makes Origin if anyone has heard of them.
