[nagdu] Thinking of getting a guide dog

Wow, that's a difficult one to answer. 

My first reaction is to say you do the same thing you would with a cane, just that the kinds of landmarks and clues you use will be different. You might take a cane with you for the difficult bits, or to heel a dog through something you particularly want to show him, like the third sidewalk on the left. Basically, you'll probably figure out the most comfortable thing for yourself. Me, I just get up and go and figure it out on the way.
