    Hi all,

I live in an apartment complex they contracted with True Green to treat our
lawns four times a year. I've arranged with the office to have them call me
1 to 2 days in advance so we know to take Gipp out before they start
spraying.

This morning True Green showed up unannounced and the office didn't have
time to let us know before they started to spray.
We were told that dogs or children should not be allowed on treated lawns
for 24 hours or until it rains.
What we usually do after they spray is hook up the hose and rinse everything
down where Gipp normally parks. We also sweep the sidewalks off from our
apartment to the parking lot. Before I bring Gipp in I wash his feet off in
warm soapy water in a pan I put out front. Since they use a riding machine
to treat the lawns the pellets are everywhere. I worry about Gipp walking on
the treated lawn or picking up a pellet.
I talked to management a few years ago about my concern and their suggestion
was to take my dog outside of the complex to park. And that won't work.
Because there's no way I can get my dog out of the complex since the
pellets are everywhere, including the parking lots. And I don't feel like
carrying my dog for five minutes so he can have a safe spot to go to the
bathroom.

I called LeaderDog today and asked them if there was some way I can force
the apartment complex to tell True Green not to spray around my apartment.
The person I talked to at Leader Dog had a suggestion. She said I could put
a tarp down on the lawn in front of our apartment before it's treated. Then
after they're done we can pick up the tarp and Gipp has a safe area to park.
I told the office what Leader Dog had suggested and they had no problem
with it.

So if anyone else lives in a apartment complex and has the same problem this
might be something you can try.
