A friend just showed me a website that gives walkability ratings.  I put
in an address or town, and it looks at how close it is to restaurants,
groceries, and shopping.  My street gets an 88, which didn't surprise me,
as we chose our neighborhood because of its walkability, among other
assets.  My friend is using the site to check out places he might like to
retire.  I think it also might come in useful when picking a place to stay
on vacation.  It's
walkscore.com.
