Well, first of all, I agree with you on the business of not caring about standing. It is fine with me. I sometimes feel I can get the dog in a bit safer place if I do sit, but I try to keep him small as possible and stand behind him to protect his tail. I try to refuse seats, and sometimes it works. Other times it does not work. Maybe this is a cop out, but when it doesn't, I just go ahead and take it to get the situation finished. I'm older and I know I can stand on the train or bus; some of those folks I won't see anymore; we all want to get where we are going, so I leave it alone. But I will protest. There are times when it has worked to do that, times when not.
