Hi, all,
Happy New Year's to all and hope the 2012 year will be thankful and a fantastic year for many.
Yes, I know.
My subject is rather weird.
At some point when I have a chance to, I'm going to hopt back on to Denver Gov's web site to see if I can figure out how to access a web site for the state of Colorado.
I'm wanting to research to see if the state as a whole has a dog attack legislation in place or not.
If not, was wondering if anyone would have any ideas or suggestions on how I'd be able approach Governor John Hickenlooper also known as the former mayor for city and Denver County in regards of this matter.
I am aware this is a task that I'd probably be better off having help from others rather than taking this on my own.
It will take a lot more Coloradans to get something done for the whole state.
I know there's a few towns or counties which do have a dog attack ordinance, but am not sure if it is a weid state legislative law as of yet.
A couple weeks ago, I wrote and shared my close call counter with a loose dog that ran across Federal Boulevard and the fact that he charged at Odie and I really fast.
Thankfully, Odie and I were all right and nothing serious happened.
However, Odie is expressing he's had enhough of dogs owners who just won't keep their dogs on leash and even if they are, making sure they're kept under control.
Unfortunately, there was another dog attack which happened in Aurora, Colorado, sending three people and a small dog off to the hospital.
As far as the dog owner, she's still listed in serious condition.
The other two individuals who did try to help fight off the unknown loose dogs were also injured as well.
I find irritating in this case is neither of the two loose dogs were wearing tags or even collars and no one knows the breeds yet.
Right now, Aurora Police is asking for help to find out whose dogs belonged to who and why were they out running loose in the first place.
I guess what I'm wanting to know is how my letter should be addressed to the Colorado governor and I also want to get to the point on why it is important to get something put in place immediately?
I don't want my letter to just ramble on.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, email them to me off list to avoid unnecessary list trafic.
I am trying to better myself to not cause a major amount of email pile up in many email inboxes.
Back to the whole part of the dog attack thing though.
Only way I'd really know if there is an attack ordinance in place for the state of Colorado is to definitely do my homework and research.
Offten too many times, dog owners are the ones who are the problem for their dogs behaving in a bad manner.
I've seen some guide and other service dog handlers who don't control their dogs either.
Sometimes, I've come across sayings where people will strictly try to blame one breed for attacks, but truth here is that all dog breeds can turn out to be in that manner, if they are allowed to get out of hand.
Well, guess I'm finished and will close out for now.
Odie and I were busy yesterday, but will be going out again today and tomorrow to hang out with some friends.
