[nagdu] How Often to Bathe Your Dog was Re: AT PILOT :)

This is a question on which I would like to get an authoritative answer,
meaning some sort of independent scientific evidence. The reason is that I
am working with employees who use guide dogs at a sheltered workshop for the
blind. The management has handed down a policy that all guide dog users must
bathe their dogs every Friday. Now, I don't want to get into the
paternalistic elements of this policy, as I am fully aware of them and in
agreement. What I want to know is if anyone has any evidence that bathing a
dog too frequently is unhealthy. Again, I am not looking for one's opinions
on this topic; rather I want objective, scientific evidence from an
authority along with a citation as to where to find this information. Anyone
who provides this information will get a shiny gold thingamajig!.

Fraternally yours,
