[nagdu] Backpacking

Hello,

Although it is pretty early in the spring semester here at my university, I have begun considering Spring Break plans. We have a really great Outdoor Programs set up here, and they are leading several of the trips come March. 

In the past I have done a one day rock climbing trip with them, leaving my guide, Alexa, on tie down at the base of the mountain. I had a blast, however, Alexa wasn't very fond of the idea of me being 80-100 feet upon the face of a giant rock.

Anyways, my reason for writing is to inquire if anyone on the list has done some backpacking with their guide. The trip I'm looking into would be 5-7 days hiking the southern portion of the Appalachian Trail. Some of my concerns are the amount of weight I'd have to carry, what with my own belongings in addition to Alexa's food and such.

Any comments or stories are welcome.
