Yah, both mine are very low shedders.  Its because of the nonshedding thing. 
I'll look up the saliva thing tomorrow.  Sence I have an extensive knowledge 
of biology I'd be curious as to what is causing the allergic reaction.  For 
example, antibodies or chemicals akin to bee sting venom, Formic acid. 
Probably not the latter at least not that chemical anyway.  That sure would 
make a dogs breath smell like vinegar but perhapse another chemical or 
enzyme produced in there saliva.
