Its awesome to hear that your pups tests and health are starting to improve.
If I might ask, why would you back out of the October class? Just curious,
not trying to be mean or anything.

First, to Janice, you have certainly been placed in a tough position. The
dog has not had any more seizures, so was it an isolated event, or are there
other seizures waiting in the wings? I can relate. While m;y situation is
different wiht Griffin since he was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis, I
don't know if some of the stresses that our guide dogs face coudl make
things worse. he is not symptomatic with the exception of the liver enzymes
being out of whack. But I know there is a point at which he will become
symptomatic with the uglier side of the illness. So retire now, or later?
He is allmost ten, so for now, I have made the decision to retire him. he
has slowed down some, and I don't want to run the risk of the job he has to
do just making the problem worse. But I must tell you that lately, I have
been pondering whether I should back out of the October class that I am
tentatively penciled in to. *major groan*

But I do have some good news that I am happy to have received, and I'll take
it and run with it for as long as the good Lord allows.

Got the lab results back for Griffin. One liver enzyme is back to normal,
and the other one, while still above normal, has dropped to a more
acceptable range. I can now go to an every other day dosing schedule with
the Denamarin, and in a few months, he will be tested again. So, there is
indeed progress in the camp. Oh, almost forgot, he has nearly gained back
the weight he lost when he got sick from the reaction to the antibiotic.
