I would say every time she says this, is, the dog only needs to listen to me.
Not at this time.
Then I would leave well enough alone.
When she talks on behalf of food, I would ignore it.
She knows she is getting your goat, and another thing, if it gets to 
bad, do you have to go out to lunch with them?
I know you might enjoy going, but this way it cuts down on your feeling 
unhapy inside.
Just some thoughts.
