You are correct with this, Julie.  The type of correction with the head 
collar is just like you would use with the reins and bit on a horse.  You 
NEVER jerk on a horse's bit as it would injure it's mouth.

When at TSE, they showed how to use the Gentle Leader.  The Halti is 
similar.  That's when I realized that the tug on the head collar was just 
like the tug on a horse's reins - knew my riding would teach me something! 
LOL!

I'm not sure about how much GDB teaches how to use the head collar.  They do 
issue the Gentle Leader.  I should ask my GDB friends.
