Tracy,
This is so well put.  If my dog is getting distracted by people, then  
there is a problem.  It is my responsibility to work on fixing the  
problem, and I can't expect the general public to behave themselves.   
I would appreciate it if they did, but it's beyond my control.  I  
guess I find it easier to pick my battles, and I know I can win this  
one by engaging in consistent, thorough training to improve in this  
area right from the start.
