May I ask why we are telling these people we are traveling with a guide dog in the first place. I never have. I have been in the city a few times especially when I am going to the cruise ports or trade shows. Even here on Long Island, I don't mention that I have a dog, so far I haven't had a problem, but there is always will be one.
Never say never.

> You think dealing with those taxi companies are bad, just try getting a yellow cab in Manhattan!!! To add insult to injury, try using a local company outside Manhattan! It is as if you have to strike gold with a good driver or else.

He was going back to Queens where he lives and the taxi driver refused to take him because the driver told him I don't like dogs. My friend called the paratransit company and he asked them what are you going to do about this. Her reply was we are sending another taxi for you and your should have told us you have a dog. He told them he doesn't have to tell them he is traveling with a dog. He has the names and phone number of 3 people who witnessed the man refusing to take him home.
