Hello all:
What an exciting few weeks I have been having, and mind you I mention my NFB Family and the Travel and Tourism Division.
They came and saw the zoomtext program I use, and I explain how I use it, I showed all my certifications not only from my suppliers and tourism boards, but also from the places that we sponsor, like down in GA. Tina Rockwell from Advanced Diabetic Solutions, is not only a business friend for the Diabetic Division, and my diabetic supplier, but I am also there personal travel agent for her family vacations.
I mentioned NAGDU, and Diabetic Action Network. They interviewed my wonderful husband as well, and did video with me and Maxx.  The segment will be about 5 minutes.  Even if you don't have Verizon or live on long island to see it, I will send a link to it, also I will get a dvd of it and hopefully, or webmaster Peter Donahue will put it up on the website.
Tina's boys are in the Dacula Athletic League and do the little league football, and we have been sponsors for there team for 2 years, and we will be doing it again this year.  Each year we get a plaque and a banner put up in the ball park.  It is nice.
And other events here on Long Island
But, I am not getting a big head at all on this.  NOT!
The lady asked me what is the best part of owning this business and where do I see myself in 5 years.
I said, I of course want more customers. I want everyone, I will share because I want other people like myself, Anahit LaBarre, Maurice Shackelford, April Scheppe or anyone that wants to go into this business to be able to do this.
We also mentioned, we love to the point, that we cry when someone blind, wheelchair, deaf, etc. that went on a trip for the first time and enjoyed it.
But I had my NFB hat on the whole time as well. Educating that just because someone is blind, doesn't mean we can't do anything. I said we are college graduates, and have PhD's we just need the public to realize and to look beyond the cane, glasses and guide dog, and listen to what the person is saying and there credentials.
So 5 years from now, I just want to say I am still doing what I am doing and more, I mentioned Matt Slosky from Social Flights, and speaking with Mark Jones of Disney and working closely with Norwegian Cruise Lines.
