[nagdu] Hurricane Sandy

Hi Everyone,
Here on the south shore of Long island we were hit pretty bad with the hurricane. 
There are people still without electric today and we have a gas shortage and food shortage .
I worked yesterday from home for a while after my phone service came back on calling my consumers who lived near the water.
One has no home to go back to and has a guide dog. 
I have asked my Lions club to help and will contact the Lions District Gov.
I was very lucky as I was contacted to see if I wanted to evacuate by the county. i had a guest speaker a few months ago at our support group so people with disabilities could register in case of a disaster and they did call people. 
I lost some roofing shingles , siding was loose and two pieces of my stockade fence came down. My son fixed the fence and the roofer came Thursday. A sentimental possession that I lost part of was a wishing well my husband made for me 9 years ago. the bottom half fell apart but we managed to save the top so its laying in my back yard.
Other than that we are very lucky as many people are still suffering without things. 
The winds were 90 miles an hour and it was hard to take Anna and my pet dog Awesome out but we managed. Of course Awesome went busy quickly and Anna had to sniff to find the right spot. 
I hope everyone on this list  is ok if they were in the path of Hurricane Sandy.
