Steve,

I have read what everyone has said in this thread. I don't think your aware of how much work goes on behind the scenes of a moderator. By no means am I complaining, but I do alot of emailing of list members off list to remind them of rules, and to please ask them to do this or that. "usually" list members are very good at following the rules, and following my requests. this rule was not put into action, to reduce list discussion. Every single email list goes through periods of high traffic and other times of no discussion at all. With that said, when the list traffic is high, its high. I have tried very hard to ask people to reduce the list traffic, and perhaps I am not doing a good job. This rule was so that people would think about what they do post. For example instead of posting each and every time to a message, perhaps combining messages to several people. I have never claimed to be a perfect moderator, and if anyone has any suggestions on how the list is run, please do not hesitate to email me. With that said, if your not happy with my position, please do talk to Marion, as he is the one to appoint me. One last thing, is that everyone on the list, has a right to be here, and has the right to read messages. When we put into action a rule, it is for the greater good of the list as a whole, alot of thought and consideration goes into how I interact with you, what I do as rules, and how I enforce those rules. We want everyone to enjoy this list, and with a membership of 300 members, its hard to have everything in the middle. I have not to date kicked anyone off list for not following the rules, as I feel like everyonje should be able to share. With that said we have peoploe on list with all different abilities, and education levels. Also I do not sit at home, nor do I think Marion, or the NAGDU board sit at home, and count each and every message people send. If you go over one day, okay. if you go over two days in a row, I might let it slide. If you go over a third day in a row, you will get a email from me. If you go over on a fourth day, you will be put on moderator status. We all have lives, we all have things to say, and we all love our dogs. In conclusion the rule was put into action, so that list members would think about list posts. your welcome to disagree, but please do email me off list.
