[nagdu] Time on leash or tie-down, was Dogs and instructors

I don't remember being told to keep the dog on leash or tie-down for
months by either TSE or GDB. Maybe TSE said a month; I forget.
I kept Ben on leash or tie-down for a week or so, then started letting him
roam with supervision. When I saw he was fine, I stopped with the leash
and tie-down. I remember the process being the same with my other dogs.
I don't think any of them spent more than a couple weeks on leash when
they got home. I kept them on tie-down during the night for a while, but
eventually stopped even that.
My first 4 dogs lived with me in small places--one-room apartments or dorm
rooms--so supervising them off-leash was not a problem, but the process
seems to work the same, now I have a house, though it might take a little
longer to set them free.
But it sounds like I have to add acceptable house manners to the list of
things I need to say, that I thought went without saying, next time I'm
telling my school about my dog needs.
