Alright, I am going to give a suggestion here that may sound a little
odd. I used to show rabbits and we would not want them appearing to
have dead or loose hair when being examined by the judge, so we would
need to get all of that molting (shedding) hair off. We would massage
them with Listerine, the original gold kind. It would pull off all the
dead hair and there was no problem. It dried without any residue and
they smelled fresh. Do not use the mint kind. It gets sticky. All you
do is pour a little in your hands and rub into coat, removing hair as
you go. With a large dog it may take a couple of handfuls compared to
a rabbit. Good luck, Eve
